Sustainable Engineering Design Solutions
Homan O’Brien are recognised as pioneers in Sustainable Engineering Design Solutions in Ireland over the last 20 years and have achieved a number of notable firsts in Irish Engineering. Homan O’Brien designed from first principles the first Ice Bank Thermal Storage System in Ireland in Beresford Court in 1992, the concept of which has been copied ever since.
Homan O’Brien received the first ever RIAI award for Sustainable Design with the innovative design utilised in Offaly Co. Council HQ in 2003. These designs have been further developed by additional sustainable systems in Tipperary County Council and Cork Civic offices. In 2014, Homan O’Brien was awarded the ACEI Presidents Award Winners for Excellence in the M&E Design of both the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and M&E Design of Tullow Oil Technology Centre.
