Bon Secours Hospital Glasnevin – Boiler House

A major refurbishment was undertaken in the main boilerhouse. All plant, equipment, pipework, controls, lighting, fire alarm, gas detection systems were replaced. The original 3nr Buderus cast Iron sectional boilers were replaced with 3Nr Hamworthy Wessex modular boilers providing an overall capacity of 2157kW over 9nr modules. Not only does this allow for future expansion it will also allow for a significant increase in efficiency in operation. The original copper calorifiers were replaced with ACV stainless steel tank in tank units which provide fast and efficient hot water generation for the Hospital. The increase in the surface area of the heat transfer medium allowed us to reduce the overall water storage by around 50%.
