Project Description

Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital Modular Operating Theatres

Client:

John Sisk & Sons

Architect:

OCM Architects

Project Status:

Completed

Design & Build of three Orthopaedic Operating Theatres for the Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital as an extension to the existing Cappagh Hospital.

The project is unique in that the three theatres are of modular construction and were constructed off-site. This was an extremely fast track project with the overall duration of the project including testing and commissioning of the Theatres taking just over 16 weeks.

The building consists of three individual units which were practically finished prior to arrival onsite.

Once delivered to site the units were installed and weathered allowing for final testing and commissioning of the Theatres.

The on-site enabling works were carried out simultaneously to the manufacture of the modular units off -site therefore significantly reducing the overall program. The building is also designed to allow for future relocation of full facility if required. The Theatres include a UCV ventilation system incorporating a Laminar ow canopy and will be equipped with state of the art Operating Theatre Equipment including fully integrated AV Systems.
