The Clinical and Translational Research Facility is a co-located integrated research and clinical building. The building is four-storeys with a gross floor area 5,345m² . This facility is a joint development of NUI Galway and the Health Service Executive (HSE) where sharing of expertise and accommodation including HSE patient casework will inform new strands of clinical research.
The Clinical Research Facility (CRF) provides a high quality clinical environment in which client / volunteers can undergo research programmes safely and effectively according to robust, ethically approved trial protocols and includes the following departments;
- Minor Procedures Theatre / Recovery Rooms
- Cardiology Ward / Endocrine Ward
- Endoscopy Suite / Clinical Research Laboratory
- Consultant Suites
- The Translational Research Facility (TRF) provides a hi-tech research facility for use by NUI Galway and includes the following departments;
- Bio-Chemistry Laboratories (Open Plan)
- Tissue Culture Rooms
- Radiochemical Suite
- Chemical Stores
- Microscopy
- Flow Cytometry
- Endocrine Ward
- Endoscopy Suite
- Clinical Research
