Schools PPP Programme Bundle 2 – Wicklow Town Community College, Wicklow

The new Wicklow Town Community College is created from the amalgamation of Abbey Vocational School and De La Salle Secondary School, will accommodate 1000 students. 

The site for the new school is on the northern edge of Wicklow Town and the building ranges from single storey to three storeys in height. 

Accommodation comprises of 25 no classrooms, 38 no specialist classrooms, special needs unit comprising Central Activities Space, En-suite Toilets & Shower Area, Withdrawal Room, Multi-Sensory Room. A Para-Educational Room along with Linen / Sluice Room. New library, staff/administration areas, sports hall, store areas, toilets and ancillary areas. 

External facilities include playing fields, 6 no hard surface playing areas, 75 no car parking spaces, cycling parking areas and set down areas for buses and cars. Also link road connecting the school to the public road. Total gross internal floor area is 10,410 m2. 

Sustainable Design features include 2 Quiet Revolution Vertical Axis Wind Turbines / 17.4 kW Solar PV Array
