The NovaUCD incubation, networking and shared space, (including meeting rooms and catering) is 4,450m2 – this includes 457m2 of refurbished space in the East Courtyard as well as staff offices and rooms in the main house area. An under-developed area of 633m2 was in need of urgent attention. This area along with the 457m2 of previously refurbished space (to a minimum standard) is the East Courtyard area.

This initial phase provided 20 flexible incubation units in a net area of circa 1,500m2 of refurbished and extended space The initial 1,500m2 phase will cater for up to 20 start up companies in units and laboratories of varying sizes.

The new development provides an environment in which entrepreneurship and innovation can flourish and the overall centre can continue to act as a focus for university-industry co-operation and commercialisation of research on the campus.
