The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) celebrated 50 years in Ireland by presenting awards in 3 Categories celebrating Engineering in Ireland over 50 years.

Homan O’Brien who celebrated 60 years in Engineering last year won one Category for the Design and Introduction of the first ever Commercial Ice Bank Thermal Storage System in Ireland in Beresford Court Office Building for Irish Life, completed in 1991.

The Ice Bank paid for itself in 2 years and it is still running strongly today.
