Tom, one of the longest and most loyal members of Homan O’Brien, having started work for the practice on 30th May 1977 and on Friday 29th May 2020, exactly 43 years later, Tom has now retired from the practice.

Tom commenced work with Robert Jacob & Partners on 30th May 1977.

During a downturn in the economy in the early 1980s, an arrangement was reached between Robert Jacob & Partners (Eamon O’Brien) and Seamus Homan Associates (Seamus Homan) that Tom transferred from Robert Jacob & Partners to Seamus Homan Associates – Free Transfer!

Tom left Robert Jacob & Partners on 30th October 1981 and commenced work in Seamus Homan Associates on 2nd November 1981.

During early 1990 Seamus Homan Associates & Robert Jacob & Partners amalgamated to provide consulting engineering services on a major refurbishment project at the Irish Life Centre.

On 1st October 1993, Robert Jacob & Partners and Seamus Homan Associates formally merged to become Homan O’Brien Associates.

Thanks Tom for all the great times and all the best in your future endeavours, we will miss you!   Enjoy it, the fun times begin!

We had planned a big send-off but our plans were put on hold by COVID 19 – there will be a celebration later in the year when we can get back into the pubs!

We marked the occasion with the Directors and some staff raising a bottle of beer with Tom at the office on Friday 29th May 2020 – social distancing rules were applied and temperatures of staff taken before entering the office
